Term 3 Week 6

Jessica and myself have created term 3 week 6 learning distance slides as we are still in Level 4 lockdown.
We wanted our distance learning to continue on our term 3 plans. Therefore, our reading which is just carry on with reading Matilda and doing a follow up activity. Maths carry on with Statistics. 
Due to my goal teaching digital technology I have found this cool resource that implements Te Reo Maori / Digital technology aspects to it.

Term 3 Week 5 ( Distance learning)

Myself and Jessica  created a learning slides for the students to do during the lockdown. This was made during out team meeting. 
I have added digital technology aspects so that the students are doing them as part of my goal for this term.

Unfortunetely, the day I was going to teach this to the students we went on Lockdown.
Therefore I could not teach this lesson and my Mentor did not get the chance to observe my teaching and had feedback and feedforward.


This lesson can be done once the lock down when lock down is over.

PCT Release Term 3 week 3

 Jessica was away therefore first block I was in class.

Team meeting Term 3

We are updating this doc every Thursdays after school from 3:15 to 4pm.

This doc helps us to update anything that we are doing in the studio to make our teaching practice more effective and efficient.

Goals for term 3

BOT meeting

 

 Due to being a digital curriculum innovator I had to present to the board what I was doing for the school. This slides helped me to present what I need to be said. It states what I have been doing and my current goal for this role.

Due to maybe being  curriculum that is not so visible . The leaders (DP and Principal )of our school have suggested me to do more as it is very difficult for this subject to do more rather not having my accessible time.
I would do teach digital technology to students across the school because i am quite passionate doing this. However for this project to happen I would need support. For it for example not having my PCT day on Friday where senior students get to choose their options on Friday. I would like to do a on going project ( that I have stated on the slides) with those students but being told my PCT is on Friday It won't work.
Leadership: In able for me or other curriculum innovators to do their passion and be the leader innovator, they will need to make it work. Not just say I need to do more they need to allow me to do these passion project consistently. Not just talk the talk. Walk the talk.

I'm just sharing you this link where I have been taking photos of Mindstorm sessions.

Reflection Term 2: 11 students have been attending mindstorm sessions 10 students year 5 and 1 student year 7.

Due to limited kit one group is using Junior mindstorm kit and two other groups are using the Education Mindstorm kit. I have emailed Pam about the Mindstorm education kit. Currently there are 4 mindstorm kits. However only 2 are able to use.  Teacher who have used it last year used two other kits but there is nothing inside to use everything is mixed from other legos pieces. I have searched in our staff room and asked Jill and Pam aswell but nothing solved. Other two kits are totally new and not used therefore we are using it with total care. I'm checking it every session that its goes back appropriately so that next year it's still usable as the kits are very expensive. I think the teacher that used it last year have been missed used therefore other two Education Mindstorm kits are just gone. Happy to discuss further if needed.

The students are enjoying Mindstorm session and totally engaged. We have started doing unit tasks for the students to do. Term 3 we will continue with the Mindstorm unit tasks.
